HUM IT TO BELIEVE IT

1. Hum or click to reveal enemies

Hum, chant or sing to send out your Orb to uncover enemy Wraiths and maximize your score. You can alternatively choose to reveal Wraiths with your controller.

2. Take aim through every breath

Shoot enemy Wraiths while maintaining a consistent breathing pattern. Every level unlocks a new weapon for you to master as you move up the ranks.

3. Dodge attacks and obstacles

Duck or lean away from incoming missiles before they hit you. Other obstacles must be shot and destroyed. Keep a steady breath through every hurdle.

WHY HUMMING REDUCES STRESS

Zengence was built to address the growing global mental health crisis. Vocal meditation, humming, singing, and chanting are proven to reduce stress and build resilience. Here’s the science behind it.

  • Your vagus nerve is the longest cranial nerve in your body. It is split into left and right as it descends from the brain down your spine and provides both motor and sensory functions to a number of organs, including the heart, lungs, intestines and more. It keeps an eye on everything and helps the brain to help to regulate functions like temperature and inflammation, among others.


    The vagus nerve is also the main nerve of your parasympathetic nervous system. This means that unlike the “fight or flight” response from your sympathetic nervous system, it helps you rest, digest, and calm down. Deep breathing and meditation is seen in the research to be one of the most effective ways to activate the vagus nerve and refocus away from your stressors. 


    When we anticipate stress, we typically stop breathing and hold our breath in a fight or flight response. However, if you consistently train yourself to breathe through stressful situations, you can build better resiliency and more consistently lower your stress levels. That’s exactly what Zengence is designed to do. It’s one thing to activate your vagus nerve when you’re sitting in a quiet room with no distractions. But Zengence trains you to activate your vagus nerve consistently, even when navigating stressful situations. 
     

  • Nitric oxide is a molecule known for regulating blood flow and tissue oxygenation. Your blood vessels use it to relax smooth muscle, resulting in vasodilation (or lower blood pressure) and increased blood flow. Mostly commonly associated with heart health, nitric oxide can also dilate blood vessels in lung airways and signal the release of oxygen from red blood cells to support proper lung function. 


    Deep, nasal breathing while meditating is proven in research to increase oxygen levels throughout the body.
